The transmediale.12, titled “in/compatible”, examines the artistic dimension of network culture. On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the festival will also feature a review of Berlin’s media art and cultural history.

Contemporary music from Scandinavia will be the highlight of this year’s fourth edition of the kiel days of new music 2012. The festival will kick off with a concert by the Ensemble Aventure, one of the oldest and most influential ensembles of contemporary music in Europe.

New funding programme: International Museum Fellowship
Museums and public collections in Germany can now apply for funding. The fellowships allow foreign curators and young researchers to work at a German museum or collection for a period of 18 months.

Demonstrations. Making Normative Orders – Exhibition
The exhibition concentrates on artistic positions which reflect mass movements and the negotiation of democracy. Each curator examines one of three viewpoints in the exhibition: contemporary art, art history and contemporary performance.
