Dr. Olaf Nicolai

Dr. Olaf Nicolai, born in Halle (Saale) in 1962, now lives and works in Berlin as a fine artist. His pieces have been displayed in solo and group exhibitions at practically every important venue of contemporary art since the 1990s – for example, at the documenta in Kassel and the Venice Biennale, and before that as a scholarship holder at the Villa Massimo (Rome) and the Villa Aurora (Los Angeles). Following his studies in German Literature in Leipzig, Budapest and Vienna, he received his doctorate from the University of Leipzig in 1992.
