Elisabeth Ruge

Elisabeth Ruge, born in Cologne in 1960, was managing director of the Berlin Verlag with its four subsidiaries from 2005 to 2011: the Berlin Taschenbuch Verlag, Bloomsbury Berlin and Bloomsbury Kinderbücher & Jugendbücher. In 2010 she founded Berlin Academic as a subsidiary of the Berlin Verlag. Following an apprenticeship in book publishing at Claassen, she studied English, American and Slavic Studies in Frankfurt (Main) while working as an editorial assistant at the S. Fischer Verlag.
