Johan Holten

Johan Holten, born in Copenhagen in 1976, has been the director of the Heidelberg Art Association between 2006 and 2011. He also heads the Consortium of German Art Associations (AdKV). Following his studies in Art History and Cultural Studies at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, he completed a ballet training programme at the Royal Danish Ballet School in Copenhagen. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as a curator, set designer and fine artist in diverse cultural projects and wrote articles for German and international newspapers and trade magazines. Since April 2011 he is Director of the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden.
