Funding in specific artistic fields
The Foundation has established individual funds for specific artistic fields - dance, theatre, literature, fine arts, socio-cultural projects and film. These supplement the Foundation's general funding efforts (General Project Funding) which award financial aid to projects in these and other fields.
The dance, film and theatre funds are especially targeted at achieving concrete, cultural political goals in their fields. Therefore, the funding decisions are often based on very exact thematic and formal prerequisites.
However, the funds for literature, literary translation, fine arts, socio-cultural projects and performing arts are open to a wider spectrum of project topics. In contrast to General Project Funding, most of these funds are also open to individual applicants.
Please note that the Federal Cultural Foundation has no influence on the application selection process for these funds (with the exception of Doppelpass – Theatre Cooperation Fund and International Museum Fellowship). The independently-managed funds process all applications at their own offices.
