Border Crossers / Outrepasseurs
A joint programme by the Thalia Theater Halle and the Théâtre de la Tête Noire in Saran (France) - supported by the Wanderlust Fund
Although Germany and France share a geographic border, they couldn't be further apart in terms of their theatre aesthetics. An annual German-French playwright partnership and joint theatre performances will hopefully bring them closer together. In the first year, author Claudius Lünstedt and his French colleague Claire Rengarde will team up, in the second year Pamela Dürr and Silvain Levey. Together they will develop a theatre night to be shown at both theatres. The playwrights will be allowed to determine the setting and type of performance for their play, as well as put together their own creative team.
Theatres: Thalia Theater Halle and Théâtre de la Tête Noire, Saran
Artists / participants: Pamela Dürr, Claudius Lünstedt, Théâtre de la Tête Noire ensemble (F), Sylvain Levey (F), Claire Rengade (F), Aureliusz Smigiel (PL), Jutta Hoffmann, Britta Schreiber

The Wanderlust Fund
The German Federal Cultural Foundation established the Wanderlust Fund to support German municipal and state theatres that wish to engage in a partnership of exchange with a foreign theatre for a period of two to three seasons.
Wanderlust blog
In February 2010 the participating theatres began sharing their impressions of their joint meetings, workshops, guest performances and co-productions in our Wanderlust blog. In addition each season, three Pfadfinder (scouts) head out and visit the Wanderlust projects, describe the international theatre partnerships and document these exciting cross-border encounters in texts and images.
