Curriculum vitae of Bettina Masuch

Bettina Masuch studied theatre studies in Giessen. After gaining dramaturgical experience at the Kaaitheater in Brussels and the Theaterhaus Jena, she became a dramaturge at the Volksbühne at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin in 1998 where she worked on productions by Castorf, Schlingensief and Pollesch. In 2002 and 2003, she was the production dramaturge for the choreographer Meg Stuart at the Schauspielhaus Zürich. From 2003 to 2008 Bettina Masuch worked at the Theater Hebbel am Ufer (HAU) in Berlin as a dance curator. Until 2008 she was a member of the artistic directors’ team of the “Tanz im August” festival, and in 2013 she served as the artistic director of its 25th-anniversary edition. She was responsible for organising the Springdance Festival in Utrecht as its artistic director from 2009 to 2013. Since January 2014 Bettina Masuch has been the general director of the tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf. She is the editor and author of various theatre publications and is frequently invited as a guest lecturer to national and international universities.
