In spring 2027 the Association of German Playwrights will be hosting the third edition of its festival of contemporary drama, “Contemporary Dramas #3”. The festival is a self-organised event by authors and playwrights who wish to introduce a broader audience to the diversity and quality of dramatic texts. Next year’s edition focuses on the question of how new theatre alliances can evolve beyond the long-established mechanisms and rigid hierarchies that characterise the theatre business. Readings, panels and networking formats will offer visitors the chance to experience and discuss drama as a heightening, contemporary and political form of literature.
“Contemporary Dramas #3” is funded through General Project Funding by the German Federal Cultural Foundation.
