Jetzt / עכשיו / الآن / Now (AT)

In cooperation with the Center for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv–Yafo, the Kunsthalle Göppingen is planning an exhibition featuring the visual artist Maya Schweizer. The starting point of her artistic work is the Hebrew word “aksháv (עכשיו pronounced: akh-SHAV), which became the resounding slogan on the streets of Tel Aviv with protesters demanding the end of the war in Gaza and the release of the Israeli hostages “now”. For her project, Schweizer collected atmospheric impressions in Israel and the district of Göppingen, which she then translates into a multichannel video piece to convey the experience of the “now” of a society. The artist investigated the traces of Jewish life in Göppingen in order to forge a bridge between the past and present. The exhibition will open in autumn 2026 in Tel Aviv and will subsequently debut in Göppingen in spring 2027.
