POEMS OF UNREST / GEDICHTE DER UNRUHE

In summer 2026 the Haus für Medienkunst in Oldenburg will present a selection of pieces from its fifth edition in cooperation with the OFF-Biennale Budapest. The exhibition “Poems of Unrest” – named after a piece by the artist and activist Robert Gabris – explores how our views of inner and outer security are interwoven and how personal experiences and collective traumata influence one another. Works that address the traumata of work are juxtaposed with works on domestic violence and the conflict zones of everyday family life. In view of strengthening populist movements worldwide, the experiences from the Hungarian context offer strategies to resist violence, fear and division – through tenderness, empathy and shared humanity.
