Project
In autumn 2027 the Academy of Arts in Berlin will present the exhibition and research project “Resonant Roots” (working title) in cooperation with the Roma Institute for Arts and Culture and other international partners. The project explores the influence of works by Sinti and Roma artists on modern and contemporary European art and culture. For this project, archive material will be reinterpreted and artistic works by Małgorzata Mirga-Tas, Selma Selman and Daniel Baker among others will be presented in dialogue with works by non-Roma artists (e.g. Rebecca Horn and Hito Steyerl) and selected pieces from the Academy of Arts collection.
“Resonant Roots” is funded through General Project Funding by the German Federal Cultural Foundation.
