The Bitfilm Festival, founded in 2000 by Aaron Koenig, has made a name for itself as a venue for international networked underground scenes and attracts a growing number of festival-goers each year, also from outside the scene. This year, at the 7th annual festival, the focus will be on films which use digital technology in a creative way, such as computer-generated 3D animated films, Machinima movies created with game engines, and Flash movies from the Internet. The festival will take place on the Internet and at an unusual venue for cinematic features - the Mandarin Casino in St. Pauli, Hamburg.
