Practice, Practice, Practice
With its project “Practice, Practice, Practice”, silent green Film Feld Forschung in Berlin plans to stage the first comprehensive solo exhibition of the American artist Kevin Jerome Everson in Germany in summer 2027. Everson’s oeuvre comprises more than 200 short- and 12 full-length films depicting people in the USA at work. His cinematic style is marked by an aesthetic that underscores the dignity, intelligence and complexity of manual labour in everyday life. The exhibition in silent green’s Betonhalle allows viewers to experience Everson’s cinematic oeuvre in its entirety for the very first time – from large-format multichannel video and film installations to sculptural works. The Kunstverein Braunschweig will also be showing a parallel exhibition of selected works by Everson which engage in dialogue with sites in Braunschweig and Wolfsburg as manufacturing sites of the automobile industry. These will include a newly commissioned work on the automobile industry in Germany. The programme will be supplemented by film presentations and discussion events, e.g. in cooperation with the Harun Farocki Institut.
