German Reunification partnership concert

In celebration of German Reunification Day, the Haydn Orchestra Dresden and the Stamitz Orchestra Mannheim performed a joint concert at the Rococo theatre in the Schwetzingen Castle on 4 October 2003. The event was also a benefit concert whose proceeds went to rebuilding the flood-damaged music school in Grimma (Saxony). The Haydn Orchestra Dresden, established in 1952, was assisted by the Mannheim orchestra when it re-organized itself as a registered association in 1990. Ever since, the two orchestras have maintained a close musical partnership.
