Halle-Dresden Class of Composers annual concert

Explanations

For its 2003 annual concert, the Halle-Dresden Class of Composers for Children collaborated with the Ensemble "L'art pour l'art" - North Germany's leading ensemble for contemporary music. The 10- to 20-year-old student composers wrote eleven original musical works for the Ensemble "L'art pour l'art" which it performed at the Kulturrathaus in Dresden and the Händel Haus in Halle on November 8th and 9th. The Hallenser Class of Composers was first established by the composer and conductor Hans J. Wenzel in 1976, and in 1982, it was renamed the Class of Composers for Children and expanded to include a Dresden division. Since 1999, Winsen (Lower Saxony) has also offered a children's class of composers.
