C.C. Hennix

The exhibition “One Darks, Two Darks” at the Badischer Kunstverein Karlsruhe is dedicated to the avant-garde composer, fine artist, poet and mathematician Catherine Christer Hennix (1948–2023). The retrospective pays tribute to the Swedish artist’s pioneering accomplishments combining art and music and presents her extensive oeuvre to German audiences for the first time in installations, sculptures, “sound pieces” and literary works. Hennix’s large-scale room installations transform compositions into spatial experiences. The exhibition invites visitors to perceive light, sound and vibration as meditative elements. The accompanying event programme features lectures, concerts and workshops. Among the project’s international cooperation partners are the Swedish Konsthall Malmö and the New York-based publishing platform “Blank Forms”.
