Gestures are integral expressions of body language. Not only do they vary in meaning depending on their cultural contexts, but also the media form in which they are communicated and produced. This exhibition presents a variety of artistic media, such as video, photography, sculpture, painting, literature and performances, and investigates gestures as intercultural elements of communication in the process of informational exchange. The exhibition will also be accompanied by a symposium which will focus on the use of gestures as common forms of expression in the performing and fine arts.
