Fluxus East

Fluxus networks in central and eastern Europe

Fluxus East was the first exhibition which comprehensively documented the East-West cross-border contacts and artistic exchange within the Fluxus network established in 1962 between artists from the United States, western Europe, Asia, and central and eastern Europe. In addition to documentary material, such as correspondence, photos, movies, posters, secret service files, filmed interviews with fine artists and musicians, and official press releases, the exhibition also featured Fluxus objects from central and eastern European collections which had never been shown before in the West. The exhibition also examined current artistic practices which are still influenced by the Fluxus movement.
