Karam Natour. Chance Encounters. Exhibition at KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art
KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art in Berlin will present the first institutional solo exhibition of works by Israeli artist Karam Natour in Germany from 12 September 2027 to 6 February 2028.
Karam Natour’s works artistically probe the boundaries separating reality from fiction, whereby human vulnerability and loss of control play a central role. In his works, Natour uses his own body to explore the historical, cultural and political aspects of identity. The main focus of the exhibition at KINDL will be a planned 7-channel video work entitled “Chance Encounters”. Displayed as a spatial installation in Maschinenhaus M2, the work will highlight personal encounters, coincidence and the symbolic act of falling as a metaphor for human interactions. The newly commissioned video installation will be filmed at seven locations around the world, including Israel, the United States, Australia and Peru. An accompanying documentary will show how the piece was created and the people Natour met along the way. The piece will debut at the Berlin Art Week 2027 and will be accompanied by discussions and an education programme during the entire exhibition period.
