Our Brood

Our Brood

“Our Brood” is an artistic experiment that will be presented to audiences in various formats at the Haus der Kunst in Munich starting January 2026. The central question at the heart of the project is: What would artificial intelligence (AI) look like if it had been trained with radical care?
The project is headed by the artists’ group OMSK Social Club which has developed a method of collective storytelling using live role plays. In their artistic installations and role plays, they explore the relationship of humans and technology. In their project for the Haus der Kunst, they simulate a world in which AI is trained with radical care. To this end, they’ve developed an interactive installation with two AI agents: M0ther as the caregiver and Br00d, a maturing entity. The AI agents react to one another, as well as with visitors in the exhibition room. As part of the exhibition, the project includes role plays and workshops where participants can investigate alternative family and caregiving models, as well as AI development. Posthuman and hybrid forms of care and socialisation will be the topic of discussion in public podiums with international experts from the scientific and professional fields. The project’s partners include the digitalisation research group “Artificial Intelligence in Culture and Arts (AICA)” in MUC.DAI and the Wavelab, both of which are situated at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich.

New artistic perspectives on AI and society

With its ‘Art & AI’ programme (2024–2028), the German Federal Cultural Foundation is funding the development and implementation of eleven projects in which cultural institutions and artists are collaborating with international research institutions. Their aim is to artistically experiment with AI technologies and address the societal consequences of current and future technological developments.
