The Verein für Raum und Zeit and the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar have teamed up to accomplish nothing less than dramatically portray new perspectives of Goethe and his works. In August 2016 the Schiesshaus Weimar will become the venue of an intimate encounter with the famous Classical poet. Equipped with headphones, audience members will be directed along an indoor obstacle course where each will encounter situations and people from Goethe’s life and works.
Research and interviews with inhabitants of the surrounding region will form the basis and starting point of the second production. In August 2017, using the foil of Goethe’s scientific equation of “elective affinities”, audiences will be able to experience a village community as a theatrical installation in an old, abandoned house outside of Weimar.
