Thomas Scheibitz. One-Time Pad

Solo exhibition

The human form took centre-stage in this major solo exhibition of artwork by the painter and sculptor Thomas Scheibitz. Born in Radeberg, the internationally established artist is known for a conceptual form of painting that differs considerably from the figurative painting of the Leipzig School. Scheibitz probes the boundaries between abstract and figurative art and draws on formal elements of Mannerism, Surrealism and Cubism. He frequently integrates images and themes of everyday life, pop culture, architecture and design into his artwork as well.
Paintings, works of paper, sculptures, illustrations and source materials were displayed in the rooms of the Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt. The goal of the exhibition was to examine and evaluate the artist’s multifaceted oeuvre. The solo exhibition documented his conceptual development as an artist and his specific form-finding process.
The exhibition was accompanied by an extensive event programme and a German-English publication.
“Thomas Scheibitz: One-Time Pad” was being carried out in cooperation with the BALTIC – Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead (England), where it will be featured from July to November 2013.
