“Music for Places”: TRANSIENT Interdisciplinary Research Project Nordeifel 2026-2029

The 2021 flood disaster hit the North Eifel hard, and the region has still not fully recovered. Destroyed infrastructure, bankruptcies, isolation and a lack of creative opportunities have taken their toll on the population. The association TRANSIENT Kulturprojekte is working to address this situation by creating a network of artists, regional cultural professionals and cultural institutions. In collaboration with local associations, choirs, school classes, and music and art schools, the association develops artistic projects in which everyone can participate, thereby establishing new creative communities. Through the LOKAL project ‘Music for Places’, TRANSIENT aims to explore the potential of sound and contemporary music in the region, connecting people and nature in the process. The focus is therefore on working with the landscape and the multi-layered identity of the places.
