Osnabrück Morgenland Festival 2007

International music festival with a focus on the Middle East and Central Asia

The Osnabrück Morgenland Festival 2007 presented the diverse musical cultures of the Middle East and Central Asia. Traditional music, the avant-garde, symphonic works and pop music formed numerous points of contact for a dialogue between the European and Arabic and Persian cultures. Last year's concert by the Teheran Symphony Orchestra in Osnabrück attracted a great deal of international attention. This year's programme featured performances of the Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra in Teheran and Isfahan and the Cairo Opera Ballet Company in Osnabrück. The festival also included concerts by artists and ensembles from Iraq, Israel/Palestine, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and Yemen.
