SITUATIONS: Listening to Spaces

Spatial music is the focus of the new programme “SITUATIONS: Listening to Spaces”, organised by the Darmstadt Summer Course and curator Carsten Seiffarth. The participating artists will produce four world premieres and two interpretations of historical works of the avant-garde at the intersect of concert, installation and performance art. An interdisciplinary artist group will collectively interpret the rooms of the Kunsthalle Darmstadt. Spatial and acoustic works of art by such artists as Maryanna Amacher, Mark Andre and Maia Urstad, will be performed at additional locations in public space, e.g. in Mathildenhöhe or inside a “Winkel” bunker. Visitors will be able to experience the acoustic works in the Kunsthalle Darmstadt throughout the summer 2025. Performances and workshops will be held at various venues in Darmstadt.
