Driving, Dreaming, Drifting
Who owns public space? Who can gain access to it, and who determines how we are to behave and move within it? Despite the widespread shift toward e-mobility and public transportation in recent years, cars still dominate public space in most European cities. The project “Driving, Dreaming, Drifting” aims to conduct site-specific research in the cities of Barcelona and Brussels where art, urban planning and architecture intersect. The project will present local and international works of art as part of the Stuttgart-based festival “CURRENT – Art and Urban Space”. Performances and artistic interventions at locations throughout the city, as well as radio pieces, films, concerts and discussion formats will shed light on various aspects of the relationship of cars and urban space, and offer queer-feminist perspectives on issues related to accessibility, sustainability, equity and quality of life.
