Project description

Since 1996, the Dachverein Reichenstrasse has operated as a socio-cultural centre in Quedlinburg, providing young people with a space for creativity and room for their ideas. In addition to running Quedlinburg’s only cinema, the association also organises cabaret shows, concerts, readings and theatre productions. Together with children and young people, podcasts, short films, performances and visual arts workshops are regularly produced on site. The association is also involved in other larger art, cultural and educational projects in Quedlinburg, including the children’s town “Andershausen”, the “Harzmovienale” short film festival and the “Fête de la Musique” music festival. As part of the LOKAL programme, the association aims to bring different social groups back into constructive dialogue with each other and counteract the perceived “drifting apart” of urban society. By collaborating with new partners in the city, the association can continue to develop and at the same time strengthen what it already is: a “third place” and a free space for implementing one’s own ideas and concerns.
