Maybe Just Luck – An Art Project with Romani People in Torgau-Nordwest

For fifteen years, the Schweizerhaus Püchau in northern Saxony has been creating spaces for artistic work and encounters. To reach local residents where they live and work, the association always operates close to them, for example through its open studio, DER LADEN, in the centre of Wurzen, and by offering freely accessible activities in public spaces and schools. Their contribution to the LOKAL programme is dedicated to the Torgau-Nordwest district, which is severely affected by poverty, migration, racism and everyday discrimination. The association intends to work with young people in the area, particularly the Roma community from Eastern and Southern Europe, and provide them with regular, binding offers. In the midst of a precarious life situation, the aim is to create space for personal creativity and self-realisation.
