Projekttext

How do you bring a region together when the central element that previously united the community is lost? This is the challenge that Quartier Vier (Q4) faces in its work in the district of Lüchow-Dannenberg in the Wendland region of Lower Saxony. Following the end of protests against the nuclear waste repository in Gorleben, the district lacks a shared vision. The association is picking up on this legacy of the region by networking artistic offerings and political participation, as well as incorporating ecological aspects into its work. With LOKAL, Q4 intends to transform the currently vacant town hall in Lüchow into a central meeting place for the most sparsely populated district in western Germany. This huge space is intended to be a place where projects spanning generations and languages can be developed.
