3. EveryBody Festival 2026

The mixed-abled dance and performance festival EveryBody brings outstanding international dance and performance productions by and featuring artists with impairments to the stage who would otherwise hardly receive public attention in Germany. Founded in Nuremberg in 2021, the EveryBody initiative is committed to inclusion in art and culture and is especially active in the field of contemporary dance.

The third edition of the festival in spring 2026 will lay the foundation for establishing an intercontinental network devoted to the topic of “(Dis)Abilities in Dance”. In various dialogue formats, the participants will shed light on where the inclusive dance scene is already active at the international level. The festival programme is directly tied to the efforts to establish the network. The network aims to create a model for international knowledge transfer in the area of inclusive performing arts, e.g. residencies, co-productions and professional training seminars.

The festival’s chief partners include EveryBody (Nuremberg), Indepen-dance (Glasgow, Great Britain), the Korean International Accessible Dance Festival and Light Sound Friends / Roh Dance Project (Seoul, South Korea) and the Unmute Dance Theatre (Cape Town, South Africa). The programme features contributions by the chief partners, as well as other national and international guest performances. The festival will open with the brand-new production “The Tide” by the prizewinning company Unusual Symptoms from Germany. Over the course of several days, the festival will feature local artists and an extensive accompanying programme.

Ensuring accessibility will be a focus of EveryBody Access from the start: a number of wheelchair-accessible entrances are already installed for numerous events, and others will be augmented further with accessible services. Experts on impairments will be supervising the measures. In this way, the EveryBody Festival strives to combine artistic accessibility with social participation.
