Project description
The Theatre Plauen-Zwickau is a five-genre theatre formed from the merger of two theatres in 2000. The team focuses together on socially relevant topics, such as the NSU (National Socialist Underground) complex and labour migration. The theatre sees itself as the creative heart of the city. It is a place of identification for residents and has an impact on the entire region. The project funded by LOKAL is being implemented in the cities of Plauen and Zwickau as well as in the surrounding rural areas: here, the theatre aims aims to reach people who have had little contact with theatre in the past. In reference to the textile industry that once brought wealth to Plauen and Zwickau, it has set itself a mission: to entangle. Specifically, Plauen, Zwickau and, in particular, its new LOKAL accomplices. Every challenge along the way to creating a shared, sustainable network will also be entangled.
