Impulse

Independent theatre festival

Since it was established in 1990, the Impulse festival has become one of the most important forums for independent theatres from Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is now regarded as the fringe theatre counterpart to Berlin's Theatertreffen. The festival's new artistic directors, Tom Stromberg and Matthias von Hartz, will focus on plays which feature new production forms and examine new perspectives which are unusual for independent theatre. A special part of the 2007 Impulse festival will feature cross-disciplinary works by international artists, including installations, theatre discussion and audio performances.

Artistic directors: Tom Stromberg, Matthias von Hartz
Venues: Prinz Regent Theater, Bochum; Studiobühne, Cologne; Forum Freies Theater, Düsseldorf; Ringlokschuppen, Mülheim a.d. Ruhr
Schedule: 21 Nov. - 2 Dec. 2007
