Weitblick 2025 International Puppet Festival
Weitblick 2025 International Puppet Festival
Building on over 50 years of puppet theatre tradition, the Weitblick festival in Lower Saxony is extraordinary in terms of internationality, breadth and scope. From 19 to 28 September 2025, the festival will present numerous productions at venues throughout Braunschweig and the surrounding region. In addition to innovative and visually stunning mask and object theatre performances and concerts, the programme includes a contemporary circus and addresses political and personal crises. One of its central artistic focuses will be on open-air productions in public space. Workshops and discussion formats will offer the audience opportunities to discuss the themes and methods of the invited artists. Free events and participative activities will encourage encounters with renowned ensembles and talented young artists of the puppet theatre scene. The festival hopes to further strengthen its ties to the region by cooperating with local partners, such as the Jugendkunstschule and the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK).
