Lehrstücke.

The Berlin-based artist collective She She Pop and the Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart used their Doppelpass funding for pedagogical purposes, namely to offer and receive practical training from one another. Brecht’s Lehrstück concept served as the theoretical tool to sound out new possibilities of collective cooperation and explore new positions of political theatre. On the basis of an open process, She She Pop, the theatre ensemble and employees presented utopians situations of communication to audiences in Stuttgart – in workshops, scenic installations and performances. She She Pop used their residency at the theatre to review and continue refining their own aesthetics – also with regard to new production models suitable for municipal-theatre collaboration. For the Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart, the cooperative venture was a chance to create a space to work and experiment, a place where artistic processes can be initiated and developed further within the theatre.
