medeamorphoses

Plays, performances, readings, films on "Medea"

Medeamorphoses was the first interdisciplinary, thematic event series to be held at Radialsystem, a new cultural venue in Berlin. Sasha Waltz's performance of Pascal Dusapins opera Medea based on Heiner Müllers "Medeamaterial" was the starting point for a variety of other performances of Medea works. In keeping with Radialsystem's concept, the thrust of the performances should "radiate" in all directions in order to encourage more artistic and academic work with the Medea mythos. Such productions included Concerts of Vocalconsort and the Academy for Ancient Music. The programme was accompanied by an exhibition and a number of discussions, readings (Christa Wolf) and films (Pasolini, Lars von Trier).
