We Are Görlitz

Second Attempt has been active in Saxony since 2003, offering a variety of cultural and educational programmes, and has established strong connections within the field of socio-cultural work. In the European city of Görlitz/Zgorzelec, the association runs the Rabryka youth and socio-cultural centre, which has established itself as a place for experimentation, discussion and encounters. A dedicated team teaches social, craft and artistic skills and motivates people to become involved in civic life. With LOKAL, the association plans to develop new artistic formats with a strong participatory focus, such as theatre workshops and community stages. The project also aims to establish stable and sustainable networks beyond the socio-cultural sector, including in collaboration with the documentary theatre collective POLYFORMERS. In the Lausitz region, which has been severely affected by structural change for decades, the aim is to create opportunities that strengthen the sense of community and make civic engagement more visible and effective.
