documenta

funded as cultural beacon

project description

Since its first edition in 1955, the documenta has established itself as one of the most important and internationally acclaimed exhibitions of contemporary art in the world. Every five years, the 100-day show presents a broad array of current international artworks.

As the documenta is currently undergoing a process of structural reform, the Executive Board of the Federal Cultural Foundation has not yet submitted a resolution to the Board of Trustees, proposing funding for the documenta between 2025 and 2029.
