Project description

KALEIDOSKOP Südpark is an artistic, experimental project located in the quarter named Neustadt of the city of Halle (Saale). Together with artists, scientists and urbanists, such as Martin Kaltwasser, Jelka Plate, Kerstin Stoll, Anna-Lena Wenzel, Lutz-Rainer Müller, Lukas Matthäi and others, as well as children and young adults living there, the project aims at exploring new visions for life together in the quarter, today and in the near future, over the course of two weeks. Maike Fraas and Maik Ronz are the project's artistic directors.

The long-term goal of the project is the establishment of long-term opportunities of exchange with regard to collaborative and artistic work in public spaces. Artists and cultural practitioners working on the topic in other but comparable contexts are also to be invited to the exchange.

All actors together with the entire neighborhood of Halle-Neustadt will conclude the project with a community celebration in July. In October 2019, KALEIDOSKOP Südpark will also invite all participants as well as additional national and international actors to a concluding review and networking event.
