Formalism. Modern Art Today

This exhibition at the Kunstverein Hamburg will examine what kind of relationship the new generation of young artists have to formal artistic issues. How important is the connection between aesthetic considerations and socially relevant themes today? The concept of the exhibition is based on the belief that formalism - aesthetic autonomy - does not rule out the artist's ability to express his/her socially critical opinion.
