Concert - youth for youth

Over a period of three seasons (2005/06 to 2007/08), German and international youth orchestras performed a series of concerts at the Gewandhaus Leipzig. With these concerts, this project hoped to reach young audiences and increase their enthusiasm for classical music, the repertoire of the 20th century and new compositions. The concert series consciously distanced itself from the traditional practice of many concert halls which offer individual concerts by youth orchestras as a kind of "additional event" for young people. Instead, the project hoped to attract a regular audience with interests of its own.
