Connections

International theatre mentor project

This international theatre project aimed to intensify and create more transparency in the exchange and transfer of knowledge between artists of different generations and theatre genres. In terms of content and structure, Connections continued and expanded the work that began with the project What's next? in 2007. The goal was to explore the continuity and continuing development in the theatre landscape, and pass this knowledge on to a younger generation of theatre artists. To achieve this end, experienced theatre artists acted as mentors for younger colleagues, each of whom was selected to co-produce a new theatre production that premiered at international venues. The joint productions created an environment in which both artists were able to share their perspectives, experiences and methods with one another in practical situations with a concrete result.
