Art is as important to life as eating, drinking and working - this is the motto of the Argentinean dancer and sociologist Ines Saguinetti. She founded the NGO Crear Vale la Pena (CVLP) to offer young people living on the social fringe of Buenos Aires the opportunity to receive excellent training in modern dance, Hip Hop, street dance, theatre, music and comedy from professional artists. These young people also learn important social skills at the three self-administrated cultural centres in the city. The CVLP has developed many promising approaches to working with the socially disadvantaged which could serve as models for other countries. During their four-month stay in Germany, young artists will present the CVLP approach and its artistic work in a number of theatre performances and workshops. Together with theatre groups from France, Slovakia and Germany, they will put together an international production titled respect!
