Schedule: 9 - 30 Sep. 2006

Located inside a historically listed pump station on the Spree, the Berlin art house RADIALSYSTEM will celebrate its grand opening with an "Overture" Project, produced by its director and choreographer Sasha Waltz in continued cooperation with the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music and Vocalconsort Berlin. In contrast to its internationally acclaimed opera production of Purcell's Dido & Aeneas, the goal of this new project is not to perform a finished composition and libretto, but rather allow independent musicians and dancers to jointly develop scenes which specially relate to the rooms in the pump station. Its musical spectrum will span four hundred years, from the 17th century to the present day. During the performances, visitors will be able to stroll through the station, and the building's exterior will also be integrated into the pieces.
