View from the Outside / Blikket Udefra. A German-Danish Perspective
A joint programme by the Staatsschauspiel Dresden and Det Kongelige Teater Copenhagen (Denmark) - supported by the Wanderlust Fund
It seems that radical political views are gradually shifting from the fringe to the centre of society. The Staatsschauspiel Dresden and Det Kongelige Teater, situated in a modern performance venue in the heart of Copenhagen, will focus on this trend and possible reactions from citizens in a two-year cooperative project. The theatres have commissioned a German and a Danish playwright to produce new plays. During a three-month writing scholarship exchange, the playwrights will reflect on the society and theatre work of their guest country from an outsider’s perspective. In addition, each will supervise three young playwrights, who will contribute miniature plays on the same subject. All the plays and staged readings will premiere at both theatres.
