Curriculum vitae of Lydia Rilling

Lydia Rilling is a curator and musicologist with specialisation in contemporary music and music theatre. Since 2022 she is the artistic director of the Donaueschinger Musiktage. From 2016 on she has been the artistic director of the “rainy days” festival and head dramaturge at the Philharmonie Luxembourg. In this function she co-initiated the red bridge project in 2017 which combined elements of the visual arts, music, dance, theatre and performance. Between 2005 and 2016, she worked as a writer, moderator and journalist for numerous organisations, e.g. the public broadcaster SWR and the Berliner Festspiele. In 2015 she co-curated the programme “Thinking Together” featured at the MaerzMusik festival. From 2011 to 2016, she taught and conducted research in musicology at the University of Potsdam, prior to which she was invited as a visiting scholar to Columbia University in New York.
